5e913ae86e7cb105'>drm: vboxvideo: Remove #ifdef guards for PM related functionsPaul Cercueil Use the pm_sleep_ptr() macro to handle the .suspend / .resume callbacks. This macro allows the suspend and resume functions to be automatically dropped by the compiler when CONFIG_SUSPEND is disabled, without having to use #ifdef guards. This has the advantage of always compiling these functions in, independently of any Kconfig option. Thanks to that, bugs and other regressions are subsequently easier to catch. Adapt drivers. No functional changes, but some of the internal helpers have been renamed to fit into the drm_fbdev_ naming scheme. v3: * rename drm_fbdev.{c,h} to drm_fbdev_generic.{c,h} * rebase onto vmwgfx changes * rebase onto xlnx changes * fix include statements in amdgpu Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de> Reviewed-by: Javier Martinez Canillas <javierm@redhat.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20221103151446.2638-22-tzimmermann@suse.de 2022-11-05drm/vboxvideo: Don't set struct drm_driver.lastcloseThomas Zimmermann Don't set struct drm_driver.lastclose. It's used to restore the fbdev console. But as vboxvideo uses generic fbdev emulation, the console is being restored by the DRM client helpers already. See the call to drm_client_dev_restore() in drm_lastclose(). It makes much more sense for the parameter logic to be in the subsystem of the drivers that are making use of it. Let's move the vgacon_text_force() function and related logic to the DRM subsystem. While doing that, rename it to drm_firmware_drivers_only() and make it return true if "nomodeset" was used and false otherwise. This is a better description of the condition that the drivers are testing for. There's no need to have ifdefery in the driver when calling the function.
