2015-08-04f2fs: check the largest extent at look-up timeJaegeuk Kim
Because of the extent shrinker or other -ENOMEM scenarios, it cannot guarantee that the largest extent would be cached in the tree all the time. Instead of relying on extent_tree, we can simply check the cached one in extent tree accordingly. Reviewed-by: Chao Yu <chao2.yu@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

2015-04-08f2fs: Export the enums in the tracepoints to userspaceSteven Rostedt (Red Hat)
The tracepoints that use __print_symbolic() use enums as the value to convert to strings. Unfortunately, the format files for these tracepoints show the enum name and not their value. This causes some userspace tools not to know how to convert __print_symbolic() to their strings. Add TRACE_DEFINE_ENUM() macros to export the enums used to userspace to let those tools know what those enum values are. 2015-02-11f2fs: split UMOUNT and FASTBOOT flagsJaegeuk Kim
This patch adds FASTBOOT flag into checkpoint as follows. - CP_UMOUNT_FLAG is set when system is umounted. - CP_FASTBOOT_FLAG is set when intermediate checkpoint having node summaries was done. So, if you get CP_UMOUNT_FLAG from checkpoint, the system was umounted cleanly. Instead, if there was sudden-power-off, you can get CP_FASTBOOT_FLAG or nothing. 2015-02-11f2fs: merge flags in struct f2fs_sb_infoChao Yu
Currently, there are several variables with Boolean type as below: struct f2fs_sb_info { ... int s_dirty; bool need_fsck; bool s_closing; ... bool por_doing; ... } For this there are some issues: 1. there are some space of f2fs_sb_info is wasted due to aligning after Boolean type variables by compiler. 2. if we continuously add new flag into f2fs_sb_info, structure will be messed up. So in this patch, we try to: 1. switch s_dirty to Boolean type variable since it has two status 0/1. 2. merge s_dirty/need_fsck/s_closing/por_doing variables into s_flag. 3. introduce an enum type which can indicate different states of sbi. 4. use new introduced universal interfaces is_sbi_flag_set/{set,clear}_sbi_flag to operate flags for sbi. After that, above issues will be fixed. Signed-off-by: Chao Yu <chao2.yu@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

It was supposed to go in last round, but various issues pushed it to this release instead. The pull request contains: - Various smaller blk-mq fixes from different folks. Nothing major here, just minor fixes and cleanups. - Fix for a memory leak in the error path in the block ioctl code from Christian Engelmayer. - Header export fix from CaiZhiyong. - Finally the immutable biovec changes from Kent Overstreet. This enables some nice future work on making arbitrarily sized bios possible, and splitting more efficient. 2013-12-23f2fs: refactor bio-related operationsJaegeuk Kim
This patch integrates redundant bio operations on read and write IOs. 1. Move bio-related codes to the top of data.c. 2. Replace f2fs_submit_bio with f2fs_submit_merged_bio, which handles read bios additionally. 3. Introduce __submit_merged_bio to submit the merged bio. 4. Change f2fs_readpage to f2fs_submit_page_bio. 5. Introduce f2fs_submit_page_mbio to integrate previous submit_read_page and submit_write_page.
