commit 357d56151976a78d90dc3dfac01777de0ef05212 upstream.

A configuration that enables earlycon but not the core console
code causes a link error:

  drivers/built-in.o: In function `setup_earlycon':
  drivers/tty/serial/earlycon.c:70: undefined reference to `uart_parse_earlycon'

That error can be triggered by the newly added samsung earlycon support,
which is missing a 'select' statement.

As suggested by Peter Hurley, solves the problem by moving the
'select SERIAL_EARLYCON' statement to the samsung console driver
option, as it is done by all other console drivers.

Two config options exist to define powerpc MPC8xx:
* CONFIG_PPC_8xx
* CONFIG_8xx
In addition, CONFIG_PPC_8xx also defines CONFIG_CPM1 as
communication co-processor

arch/powerpc/platforms/Kconfig.cputype has contained the following
comment about CONFIG_8xx item for some years:
"# this is temp to handle compat with arch=ppc"

It looks like not many places still have that old CONFIG_8xx used,
so it is likely to be a good time to get rid of it completely ?

Since we have a native 8250 driver carrying the Intel MID serial devices the
specific support is not needed anymore. This patch removes it for Intel MID.

Note that the console device name is changed from ttyMFDx to ttySx.

In the current kernel, the CONFIG_PPC_OF is always 'y' for the ppc
arch. So we don't need to check it with other ppc specific options.

As more ARM platforms are moving into ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, we can now
have integrator and versatile in the same kernel, and first one selects
this driver, causing a Kconfig warning:

warning: (ARCH_INTEGRATOR_AP) selects SERIAL_AMBA_PL010 which has unmet direct dependencies (TTY && HAS_IOMEM && ARM_AMBA && (BROKEN || !ARCH_VERSATILE))

It turns out that it has not been broken on versatile for a long time,
so we can remove the statement here.

  this hasn't happened. So I'm sending a few kconfig patches that I

   - Fix for missing va_end in kconfig
   - merge_config.sh displays used if given too few arguments
   - s/boolean/bool/ in Kconfig files for consistency, with the plan to
     only support bool in the future"
