My research into how GCC and Clang are handling this at a low level didn't prove fruitful. However, looking at the rest of the kernel tree, all ioctls use an 'unsigned int' for the cmd parameter, which will fit all of the _IOC values in the scsi/ata subsystems. Make that change because none of the ioctls expect a negative value for any command, it brings the ioctls inline with the reset of the kernel, and it removes ambiguity, which is never good when dealing with compilers. The WRITE SAME(10) and (16) implementations didn't take account of the buffer wrap required when the virtual_gb parameter is greater than 0. Fix that and rename the fake_store() function to lba2fake_store() to lessen confusion with the global fake_storep pointer. Bump version date. The same effects can be achieved by setting the dma_boundary to PAGE_SIZE - 1 and the max_segment_size to PAGE_SIZE, so shift those settings into the drivers.
