Pointer 'name' is being assigned but is never used hence it is redundant
and can be removed.

We should get drvdata from struct device directly. Going via
platform_device is an unneeded step back and forth.

The RTC core is always calling rtc_valid_tm after the read_time callback.
It is not necessary to call it just before returning from the callback.

Instead of adding a binary sysfs attribute from the driver (which suffers
from a race condition as the attribute appears after the device), use the
core to register an nvmem device.

The change removes redundant sysfs binary file boundary checks, since
this task is already done on caller side in fs/sysfs/file.c

Spinlock acquisition/release is moved out of the loop body to get
atomic states of NVRAM reading and writing operations.

accessing dev->platform_data directly. This is a cosmetic change to make
the code simpler and enhance the readability.
