<title>ixgbe: downgrade logging of unsupported VF API version to debug</title>

The ixgbe PF driver logs an info message when a VF attempts to negotiate an
API version which it does not support:

  VF 0 requested invalid api version 6

The ixgbevf driver attempts to load with mailbox API v1.5, which is
required for best compatibility with other hosts such as the ESX VMWare PF.

The Linux PF only supports API v1.4, and does not currently have support
for the v1.5 API.

The logged message can confuse users, as the v1.5 API is valid, but just
happens to not currently be supported by the Linux PF.

Downgrade the info message to a debug message, and fix the language to
use 'unsupported' instead of 'invalid' to improve message clarity.

Long term, we should investigate whether the improvements in the v1.5 API
make sense for the Linux PF, and if so implement them properly. This may
require yet another API version to resolve issues with negotiating IPSEC
offload support.

Currently big amount of the functions returning standard error codes
are of type s32. Convert them to regular ints as typdefs here are not
necessary to return standard error codes.

Fix incorrect args alignment in touched functions.

Commit dc166e22ede5 ("ixgbe: DCB remove ixgbe_fcoe_getapp routine")
leave ixgbe_fcoe_getapp() unused.
Commit ffed21bcee7a ("ixgbe: Don't bother clearing buffer memory for descriptor rings")
leave ixgbe_unmap_and_free_tx_resource() declaration unused.
And commit 3b3bf3b92b31 ("ixgbe: remove unused fcoe.tc field and fcoe_setapp()")
removed the ixgbe_fcoe_setapp() implementation.

Commit c44ade9ef8ff ("ixgbe: update to latest common code module")
declared but never implemented ixgbe_init_ops_generic().

After many years of having a ~30 line copyright and license header to our
source files, we are finally able to reduce that to one line with the
advent of the SPDX identifier.

Also caught a few files missing the SPDX license identifier, so fixed
them up.

Add status register reads and delay between reads to ixgbe_check_remove.
Registers can read 0xFFFFFFFF during PCI reset, which causes the driver
to remove the adapter. The additional status register reads can reduce the
chance of this race condition.

If the status register is not 0xFFFFFFFF, then ixgbe_check_remove returns
the value of the register being read.

Extend FW version reporting by displaying information from the iSCSI

Please do not apply this to mainline directly, instead please re-run the
coccinelle script shown below and apply its output.

For several reasons, it is desirable to use {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() in
preference to ACCESS_ONCE(), and new code is expected to use one of the
former. So far, there's been no reason to change most existing uses of
ACCESS_ONCE(), as these aren't harmful, and changing them results in
churn.

However, for some features, the read/write distinction is critical to
correct operation. To distinguish these cases, separate read/write
accessors must be used. This patch migrates (most) remaining
ACCESS_ONCE() instances to {READ,WRITE}_ONCE(), using the following
coccinelle script:

There are two problems with EEPROM access. One is that it needs to
hold the semaphore until the entire response is read or else the
response can be corrupted by other firmware accesses. The second
problem is that acquiring and releasing the semaphore is slow, so
it should be taken and released once when multiple EEPROM accesses
will be done.

Both of these issues can be solved by adding a new function,
ixgbe_hic_unlocked, to issue firmware commands that will assume
that the caller has acquired the needed semaphore.
