get resource + request_mem_region + ioremap can all be done by a single
function.

Replace them with devm_platform_get_and_ioremap_resource or\
devm_platform_ioremap_resource where res is not used.

Cell-index value is obtained from Device Tree and then used to calculate
the index for accessing arrays port_mfl[], mac_mfl[] and intr_mng[].
In case of broken DT due to any error cell-index can contain any value
and it is possible to go beyond the array boundaries which can lead
at least to memory corruption.

Validate cell-index value obtained from Device Tree.

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

platform_get_resource(pdev, IORESOURCE_IRQ, ..) relies on static
allocation of IRQ resources in DT core code, this causes an issue
when using hierarchical interrupt domains using "interrupts" property
in the node as this bypasses the hierarchical setup and messes up the
irq chaining.

In preparation for removal of static setup of IRQ resource from DT core
code use platform_get_irq(). While doing so return error pointer
from read_dts_node() as platform_get_irq() may return -EPROBE_DEFER.

As part of the W=1 cleanups for ethernet, a million [*] driver
comments had to be cleaned up to get the W=1 compilation to
succeed. This change finally makes the drivers/net/ethernet tree
compile with W=1 set on the command line. NOTE: The kernel uses
kdoc style (see Documentation/process/kernel-doc.rst) when
documenting code, not doxygen or other styles.

After this patch the x86_64 build has no warnings from W=1, however
scripts/kernel-doc says there are 1545 more warnings in source files, that
I need to develop a script to fix in a followup patch.

The errors fixed here are all kdoc of a few classes, with a few outliers:

Potentially overflowing expression (ts_freq &lt;&lt; 16 and intgr &lt;&lt; 16)
declared as type u32 (32-bit unsigned) is evaluated using 32-bit
arithmetic and then used in a context that expects an expression of
type u64 (64-bit unsigned) which ultimately is used as 16-bit
unsigned by typecasting to u16. Fixed by using an unsigned 32-bit
integer since the value is truncated anyway in the end.

fm_set_max_frm() existed in the Freescale SDK as a callback for an
early_param. When this code was ported to the upstream kernel the
early_param was converted to a module_param making the reference to the
function incorrect. The rest of the comment already does a good job of
explaining the parameter so removing the reference to the non-existent
function seems like the best thing to do.
