A NAPI poll() handler is supposed to return exactly the budget when/if
napi_complete() has not been called.

It is also supposed to return number of frames that were received, so
that netdev_budget can have a meaning.

This patch introduces the use of managed interfaces like
devm_ioremap_resource and does away with the calls to free the
allocated memory in the probe and remove functions. Also, some
labels and variable are done away with. This fixes a bug as there
was a missing release_mem_region in the remove function.

dnet_mdio_reset() does nothing useful and is optional for the MDIO bus
code, so let's just remove it.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include &lt;linux/init.h&gt;. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which
has been submitted separately.

<title>net: phy: remove flags argument from phy_{attach, connect, connect_direct}</title>

The flags argument of the phy_{attach,connect,connect_direct} functions
is then used to assign a struct phy_device dev_flags with its value.
All callers but the tg3 driver pass the flag 0, which results in the
underlying PHY drivers in drivers/net/phy/ not being able to actually
use any of the flags they would set in dev_flags. This patch gets rid of
the flags argument, and passes phydev-&gt;dev_flags to the internal PHY
library call phy_attach_direct() such that drivers which actually modify
a phy device dev_flags get the value preserved for use by the underlying
phy driver.

CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev*
markings will be going away.

Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst,

<title>net/ethernet: remove useless is_valid_ether_addr from drivers ndo_open</title>

If ndo_validate_addr is set to the generic eth_validate_addr
function there is no point in calling is_valid_ether_addr
from driver ndo_open if ndo_open is not used elsewhere in
the driver.

With this change is_valid_ether_addr will be called from the
generic eth_validate_addr function. So there should be no change
in the actual behavior.
