The safe_smp_processor_id() function was originally implemented in:

  dc2bc768a009 ("stack overflow safe kdump: safe_smp_processor_id()")

to mitigate the CPU number corruption on a stack overflow.  At the time,
x86-32 stored the CPU number in thread_struct, which was located at the
bottom of the task stack and thus vulnerable to an overflow.

The CPU number is now located in percpu memory, so this workaround
is no longer needed.

Because calls to get_this_hybrid_cpu_type() and
get_this_hybrid_cpu_native_id() are not required now. cpu-type and
native-model-id are cached at boot in per-cpu struct cpuinfo_topology.

Define helper get_this_hybrid_cpu_native_id() to return the CPU core
native ID. This core native ID combining with core type can be used to
figure out the CPU core uarch uniquely.

Bus Lock Detect functionality on AMD platforms works identical to Intel.

Move split_lock and bus_lock specific code from intel.c to a dedicated
file so that it can be compiled and supported on non-Intel platforms.

Also, introduce CONFIG_X86_BUS_LOCK_DETECT, make it dependent on
CONFIG_CPU_SUP_INTEL and add compilation dependency of the new bus_lock.c
file on CONFIG_X86_BUS_LOCK_DETECT.

Managing possible CPUs is an unreadable and uncomprehensible maze. Aside of
that it's backwards because it applies command line limits after
registering all APICs.

Rewrite it so that it:

  - Applies the command line limits upfront so that only the allowed amount
    of APIC IDs can be registered.

  - Applies eventual late restrictions in an understandable way

  - Uses simple min_t() calculations which are trivial to follow.

  - Provides a separate function for resetting to UP mode late in the
    bringup process.

<title>x86/topology: Switch over to GENERIC_CPU_DEVICES</title>

Now that GENERIC_CPU_DEVICES calls arch_register_cpu(), which can be
overridden by the arch code, switch over to this to allow common code
to choose when the register_cpu() call is made.

x86's struct cpus come from struct x86_cpu, which has no other members
or users. Remove this and use the version defined by common code.

This is an intermediate step to the logic being moved to drivers/acpi,
where GENERIC_CPU_DEVICES will do the work when booting with acpi=off.

This patch also has the effect of moving the registration of CPUs from
subsys to driver core initialisation, prior to any initcalls running.

Take a cpu_signature argument and work from there. Move the match()
helper next to the callsite as there is no point for having it in

Nothing needs struct ucode_cpu_info. Make it take struct cpu_signature,
let it return a boolean and simplify the implementation. Rename it now
that the silly name clash with collect_cpu_info() is gone.
